“Service Learning in Health and Wellness” is a course offered by CCAPP at The City College of NY, which guides students to learn through hands-on services that address health issues in Harlem.
We've worked on making healthy snacks available in school vending machines, improved school cafeteria’s recycling, convinced local bodegas to offer healthy lunches, hosted farmers’ market, and developed a Healthy Living Guide with cancer prevention tips.

Healthy Bodega Initiative Update Group B
This week was
of great
accomplishments
and basically our project was achieved, we are just hoping for it to be a great success in people buying the lunch. Today we printed out our posters and got the approved stamp and are already circulating around the campus. We also visited the bodega and placed the posters and got the first interview from a City College student who bought the special and was very pleased with was she was buying just for $4.50.
Hope everyone enjoys the special and make healthier food options!

She looks happy with the deal. Maybe for six dollars if deli wants they could include sunchips or baked chips instead of the apple for more variety.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations you guys! I hope with this other Bodegas would soon follow as well!
