“Service Learning in Health and Wellness” is a course offered by CCAPP at The City College of NY, which guides students to learn through hands-on services that address health issues in Harlem.
We've worked on making healthy snacks available in school vending machines, improved school cafeteria’s recycling, convinced local bodegas to offer healthy lunches, hosted farmers’ market, and developed a Healthy Living Guide with cancer prevention tips.

Vladimir Lenin, King Tut and the McDonald's Happy Meal: What do they all have in common?
Since we are watching all these food videos all of us were disgusted by the food processing industries i thought u guys might like this article too. its about the Mickey D's hamburger in a Happy meal. The hamburger did not decompose even after 180 days. Mind you all the Mickey D's ham burger patties are made from 100% USDA ground beef!

I'm not able to locate the link but, I'll take a guess it has something to do with the ammonia washed filler beef.
ReplyDeleteWell the article talks about how this lady wanted to prove a story she had told a friend about a schoolteacher who's kept a McDonald's burger for 12 years that hasn't changed at all and so she decided to do an an experiment of her own. She got a hamburger frm a happy meal and left it on the shelf to rot.One would expect it to decompose in 2 or 3 days normaly but this burger, evveb after 6 months has yet to even grow mold. She also mentions that its feels like plastic and has an acrylic sheen to it.It basically movese around the plate when she takes it out to take pictures for her log(pics are on flickr btw)
ReplyDeleteMickey D's spokesperson in response to this project jst called it "the realm of urban legends"
