Germs can make you Obese!

In NEW YORK LIBERTY STAR newspaper, an article entitled, "Could Germs Be Making You Fat?" talks about a recent research that took place in Washington, D.C. about how Germs can start growing in the gut of a human being that may cause obesity. These germs can also cause other health-threatening symptoms that go along with being obese. How these germs can make you obese is by making you eat more than you can actually eat everyday. it's quite interesting that germs can also make you fat if you do not keep your self clean and free of germs. Moreover scientists have found that an average person carries about 5 pounds (2 kg) of bacteria in the gut. Scientists also reported in the journal of Nature that they found 1,000 different species of bacteria in human intestines. Wow, that many germs!! thats surprising. I guess, from now onwards we should keep ourselves as tidy as possible.
link: article can be found by goggling the newspaper and it was Friday, march 5th when it came out.

  1. That's a very interesting theory but I don't understand how that can make us eat more? Germs harm us which is true but change our ability in how we see food is different. This puts a whole new light on how we see germs.

  2. i mean we do have many types of germs in our gut that their role is significant for life functions. However, i am just not sure which specific "germs" the authors are talking about, and i'm not sure if tidiness is relevant. I mean are these germs getting in from hand to mouth action... then little kids would be a risk population!!

  3. Very interesting article, but I couldn't find it to read the whole thing. Also I don't know a lot how this works, but my mom was diagnosed with Helicobacter Pylori, a bacteria that we can get from food, eating meat that is not well cook, lettuce that are not wash properly, contact with other people and many more. This bacteria caused her to have severe gastritis and she felt the need to eat constantly.
