The obesity campaign

Michelle Obama is working with PepsiCo to address the issue of childhood obesity. Here is an article that was published where they list a number of solutions to the obesity epidemic. I thought it was quite interesting and informative how the issue can be addressed on a national and/or legislative platform as well as on smaller levels like community intervention and activism by small groups like ours.

  1. Guys, read this article. You get to see how the big corporations nowadays jump to be part of any sustainable solutions/efforts. It is not just PepsiCo, other big names in food/beverage industry are/will do similar contributions. We can take this article as a case study and delve more into how the similar efforts can be acquired from other food retailers to ensure better access to food.

Plus, it demonstrated the scale of initiatives to tackle obesity. I mean white house is aware of the problem, and everybody is coming with their unique solutions to reduce this epidemic. And we are doing the same in this class.
